An inconsolable Pierre Gasly fought back tears as he swapped his 2018 Honda Jazz, given to him whilst at Toro Rosso Honda for a 2019 DBS Superleggera supplied by Red Bull’s title sponsor Aston Martin.
“This is the worst day of my life” the Frenchman CRIED
A visibly upset Gasly had to be physically restrained as his beloved pearlescent white orchid Jazz – dubbed “Pierre Jazzly” – was taken away by Honda marketing staff.
Gasly shed a solitary tear as it vanished into the sunset.
“Fortunately it was only a 4-cylinder, so it didn’t vanish in a hurry. I got an extra 4 hours to say goodbye – in the end I had to stop waving, it was getting cold”
“I’ll always remember the good times we had together over the last 12 months” HE SAID.
“They just go so fast – the months, not the Jazz”
Rubbing salt into the wound, Gasly then took delivery of a V12 DVS Superleggera from Aston Martin, worth over $300,000.
“Think of the on road costs” cried Gasly, searching for a cupholder and a USB port.
The Frenchman was lucky to survive a sickening accident minutes later, as he adapts to the additional 700 brake horsepower the Superleggera has over the Jazz.
The DBS Superleggera last belonged to Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo, who is reportedly “smitten” with his new Clio Ambiente.
It’s believed Gasly is taking time away with loved ones as he comes to terms with this latest setback.
“We ask that you respect Pierre’s privacy at this difficult time” the family said in a statement.
Pierre hopes to buy back the Jazz with money he saved from Toro Rosso and funds raised from a “Jazz For Jazzly” benefit concert.
“So far I’m up to $14.70. That buys me a mudflap”
Fortunately Gasly can expect a reunion of sorts. Reports this week confirmed the Jazz’s 4-cylinder engine is identical to the 2019 Honda power unit in the back of his RB15.
