Mercedes Benz and Valtteri Bottas have taken the cover of not one but two new vehicles for the 2019 Formula One World Championship.
Not only did they launch their 2019 title contender, the W10 online and at Silverstone, but the team also unveiled the bus it plans to throw Valtteri Bottas under this year.
“The bus looks fantastic” Bottas said
“It looks even better from underneath!”
The ‘Valtteri It’s James’ bus is an evolution on the 2018 design.
“The guys have done a fantastic job” Bottas said, “hopefully I can too and then I can avoid this thing”
“It’s always an exciting day at the factory” Team Principal Toto Wolff added.
“The start of a completely new season, completely new challenges and a completely new bus to throw Valtteri under” Wolff said.
Wolff dismissed speculation that Bottas was on thin ice.
“Not at all” Wolff replied, “The Finnish rally finished weeks ago. He’s back here at the factory”
“Valtteri knows he has our 100% support right up until the day we put Ocon in the car”
Ocon, a Mercedes reserve driver, actually volunteered to drive the bus at the official launch.
“It’s the only seat I could secure” the Frenchman told the press.
