After revealing they would miss the first two days of pre-season testing, Williams has announced yet another setback.

“We’ll be missing the first 20 rounds” Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams confirmed in Barcelona.

“We just need to make sure we’re ready for Abu Dhabi”

“But it’s not a bad thing though” Williams continued.

“It’s not like we’d be scoring points in those 20 races anyway”

Spanish fans have started tearing up tickets and trashing the grandstands on hearing the news the FW42 wouldn’t be out on track.

The team broke the news on all ROKiT phones, and then 5 minutes later on real phones,

“It’s sh*thouse” Clare Williams wrote in a statement “The news, not the phone”

“We know this is heartbreaking for our loyal and passionate fan” Williams wrote in a statement.

“But we’ll absolutely be ready for Day 1 of the post-seaosn Pirelli test” Williams confirmed, “Hopefully”.

Williams explained the problem was technical.

“The cars ready to go for sure” Williams said, “we just can’t get our ROKiT phones to work”

But incoming driver Robert Kubica was able to find the positive in the disappointing announcement.

“It means I don’t have to drive the thing” Kubica told local reporters, grinning from ear to ear.
