Lewis Hamilton secured his sixth consecutive pole position at Albert Park ahead of Sunday’s season opening Australian Grand Prix on Saturday.

The achievement confirmed what many Formula 1 fans had been expecting, that the team that wins literally everything are still dominant.

“Another boring year” fans commented.

“See you in December!”

It wasn’t just fans feeling flat after qualifying.

“I’m bored, and I’m the one doing the winning” Lewis Hamilton told us.

Mercedes secured yet another front row lockout, 7 tenths ahead of their nearest rival, Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.

“I can’t believe it” Vettel said, “who would have thought the team that didn’t show their full pace in testing would turn out to have full pace”

The FIA confirmed season 2019 would be exactly the same as season 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014.

“Soz guys!” FIA president Jean Todt told the press.

“Looks like we’re set for another stinker” Todt said.

“But it’s only for another 8 months”

Todt confirmed FIA engravers had already started on the Drivers and Constructors Championship Trophies, and that they would be presented to Hamilton and Mercedes at Bahrain in a few weeks time.

But Todt reassured Formula 1 fans they won’t have to wait too long to see some more appealing on track action.

“Only 336 sleeps until testing!” Todt exclaimed.
