Alfa Romeo have announced Mick Schumacher and Callum Ilott as their drivers for the upcoming F1 Testing period after the Bahrain GP.

The team couldn’t any more chuffed at their signings, with Team Principal Frederic Vasseur highlighting the prowess of the rookie drivers.

“Mick Schumacher is a future world champion, racing is in his blood!” he beamed.

“And Caleb, um, I mean, Callum Teapot, no sorry, Ilott, Callum Ilott, is great too!” he added.

The excited Team Principal went on to further explain the different roles for each driver.

“Mick will simulate our qualifying and race day runs, whilst Allan, no sorry Callum will test the long runs.”

Alfa Romeo have conceded that they are aware of the obvious hype that comes with their latest signings.

“No other rookies have as big a profile as Mick Schumacher and Malcolm Shallot, no sorry, Callum Ilott.” Head of PR at Alfa Romeo said.

Ilott fronted the media on Tuesday wearing his Alfa Romeo team polo, and thankfully, a nametag.

“Not even I know who I am” Callum what’s his name told reporters.

“But I can’t wait to meet Mick!”

Mick Schumacher told media he was “incredibly excited” to get into a Formula 1 car, and to be driving alongside Ilott.

“Who?” Schumacher asked.
