After Mercedes claimed their fourth straight 1-2 finish from four races, the FIA has confirmed Formula 1 will be officially renamed Formula M

It comes as the FIA are secretly developing plans for a new breakaway category

“The main issue is that in Formula 1 at the moment, only two cars can win.”
“In FormulaM, on any given day 20 different cars could win!”
“Sure, only one constructor could, but at least then the racing would be closer”
“The fans love seeing the same team and the same two drivers come first and second week after week after week after week”
“Fans love that for the last 6 years it’s been nothing but Mercedes Mercedes Mercedes – why not build a whole category around that!”
Mercedes are reportedly thrilled with the proposal.
“We’d love it!” Team Principal Toto Wolff told us
“It would give Esteban Ocon a seat!” Wolff suggested.
“And every race we’d secure a Mercedes 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-20 finish!”
