Formerly known as the “King of the Late Breakers,” Daniel Ricciardo has announced himself as the new “King of the Late Reversers.”

During Lap 32 of the thrilling Baku race, Ricciardo reversed into Daniil Kvyat’s Toro Rosso in an attempt to rejoin the track after a failed overtake lunge.

“I licked the stamp and sent it backwards.” Ricciardo conceded in a post race interview.

The Australian, whilst obviously frustrated, was able to see the positives of what the Stewards labeled a “Reversing Incident.”

“I finally felt in control of the car!” Ricciardo explained.

“The brakes are shit, the downforce is non-existent and our pace is gone, but at least we’re able to Reverse” he added.

Whilst viewers were shocked at ‘#ReverseGate’, Ricciardo was not.”

“It was only a matter of time before I unlocked the car’s true potential.”

Ricciardo and Kvyat were both summoned to the Stewards post race however were spotted in pitlane having a very heated discussion.

“We were swapping insurance and registration details,” Ricciardo explained.
