After being accidentally awarded Driver of the Day in Austria, Robert Kubica has again fallen victim to an embarrassing glitch – this time being awarded a contract extension by Williams.
“We got it wrong” Clare Williams confirmed.
To the surprise of F1 fans and senior Williams officials, the Polish driver’s name appeared on a contract extension document.
“We’ve identified the cause of the bug” Williams confirmed.
“Stupid ROKiT phone” Clare cursed.
It comes after Kubica, who finished last in Austria, was incorrectly awarded Driver of the Day.
Howver, Williams announced after “verification” a change to the contract on it’s official social media channels.
“On Monday, a technical glitch resulted in Robert Kubica being declared an employee after he was incorrectly allocated a contract”
“We can reveal that after verification, we have instead awarded the contract for 2020 and beyond to an exciting, experienched driver of immense talent and pedigree” Williams confirmed.
